Inter Departmental Tournaments
In their strive to strengthen the sense of unionism amongst students of the Citi Polytechnic regardless of its school segmentation. The Citi Polytechnic Students’ Union organizes INTER_DEPARTMENTAL sports competition amongst different departments within the students that kicked start on March 31st 2022. The football competition combined four participating teams. These are:
- Computer Science
- Business Administration
- Mass Communication
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics
The first game saw the Computer Science Department locked horns with the EEE & Com.eng Department, both teams started calmly in approaching the match with slow pace, slow movement and allowing opponent played the ball around and protecting the net.
The electrical’ electronics & Computer ENG Department. dominated the proceedings with more of the ball and creating some decent chances before finally registering their first goal through Goal post in the 13th minute of the 1st half. Computer Science Secondary seemingly played with no purpose. After the break, the computer science kept pushing on the electrical’ electronics ’ territory to score Goal!! oo lucky as levels the match at 1:1. All dominant Computer Science continued to create chances but break the deadlock in the 7th and 23rd minutes by Lucky and Olayiwola Taiwo respectively.
On the last minute of the game free kick has been awarded to Computer science, Olayiwola Taiwo scored Goal oo!! 2:1 down computer science won the match, Mass Communication were defeated by Business Administration on a two goal margin. A brilliant free kick delivered by Stanley Isaac left the goalie watching the ball even better than the spectators through into the back of his net in the 29th Minute of the first half. doubles the lead in the 24th of the second half. At the of the final tournament Computer science boys and girls won the league’ and the cup was giving to them has rewarded.
